He explained that there is no contention between him and the immediate political family of late Abubakar Audu and described the task ahead as a moral burden on him to fight on, till the victory of APC is accomplished. Going back to the primary election conducted on August 28, 2015, he noted that he remained the only person holding on to the votes cast for the AP

I Don't Get Awards Because Of Politics In The Industry - Burna Boy

According to Burna Boy, he doesn't take himself as part of the Nigeria music industry because there is too much politics. Speaking to The Fader magazine,he said He said, “It’s political, man. To be honest, I don’t really feel like I’m a part of the industry. Check out awards, I don’t get awards because the powers that be don’t really like me. I’m not like everyone else; I won’t do what everyone else does. They don’t like it.Everything is really political, too much politics in the industry and I’m not a very good politician. So I don’t really involve myself in all that. I just drop hit songs, and my fan base keeps increasing.“If I was a part of the industry then I wouldn’t have shit today. Think about it. Yesterday Mark's The First Sunday Of Advent

What Is Advent? Advent is the period of four Sundays and weeks before Christmas (or sometimes from the 1st December to Christmas Day!). Advent means 'Coming' in Latin. This is the coming of Jesus into the world. Christians use the four Sundays and weeks of Advent to prepare and remember the real meaning of Christmas. There are three meanings of 'coming' that Christians describe in Advent. The first, and most thought of, happened about 2000 years ago when Jesus came into the world as a baby to live as a man and die for us. The second can happen now as Jesus wants to come into our lives now. And the third will happen in the future when Jesus comes back to the world as King and Judge, not a baby. Some people fast (don't eat anything) during advent to help them concentrate on preparing to celebrate Jesus's coming. In many Orthodox and Eastern Catholics Churches, Advent lasts for 40 days and starts on normal last Sunday of November after Christ the king and is als

Read this amazing story of a Nigerian I found on Facebook

Truly amzing story as shared by a Nigerian man, Ken Davidison pictured with the elderly Nigerian woman in the link below. Read below: On a sub zero freezing but bright and sunny late morning in Toronto, I gained an Adopted Mum. So there I was patiently awaiting my turn to go through immigrations with the Toronto Border force, and within earshot, I heard a rather fraught and somewhat distressing conversation between a stern border force immigration official...and a wheel chair bound grandma...near enough same age as my mum. She obviously didn't speak much in terms of English, but I could tell from her pidgin English that she is Delta State, possibly Urhobo. The immigration officer was asking her who she came to see and how long for...she couldn't understand a word. The immigration officer was at this stage getting rather impatient and started raising her voice at which point the poor lady started crying. So being the only Nigerian around, I stepped up and politely told the of

The Returned Looted Funds Are With CBN – Presidency

Following the revelation by President Muhammadu Buhari, that some past government officials were returning their stolen loot, it’s been discovered that the location of the loot is the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). While speaking during an interactive session he had with members of the Nigerian community in the Islamic Republic of Iran, President Buhari disclosed that a voluntary return of stolen loot had commenced, but however, failed to divulge any further than that. His failure to divulge specifics- the identity of the looters and location of the funds- led many to doubt the veracity of his claim. Hence, when journalists got the chance, the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, was ambushed with questions on the location and figure of the funds recovered, but her response was far from satisfactory. Adeosun said: “There is no figure on the funds being returned yet. The process is on-going. When it is completed and the accounts are available, they would be returned to where they were

The Minister Of Petroleum Should Resign Immediately - Etcetera Writes

It is beginning to unfold how risky and dangerous it is for Nigeria that Buhari doubles as president and the petroleum minister. As the president, he already has too much on his plate with too many issues pulling the country towards collapse. From the north, Boko Haram is threatening to drag the whole country down a cliff, and if nothing is done pretty soon, we are going to have a situation in our hands with the Biafra movement. It is already a keg of gunpowder waiting to explode in our faces. The business of armed robbery has never been as lucrative as it is today. The economy is another area that calls for the president’s urgent attention. But what do we have? A president who has more-or-less assumed the role of a jack of all trade while doing nothing in particular. The president should resign as the minister of petroleum immediately if we are ever going to have sanity in the petroleum industry. What we need is a petroleum minister who is saddled with no other responsibility outsid

Policemen Treat Us Like Their ATMs – Lagos Sex Workers

Lagos sex workers in Mushin, have cried out over fees being paid to Policemen. Some of the ladies in the illicit profession told a Punchcorrespondent who visited the area earlier in the week that much of what they earn these days go to policemen who come in weekly to collect compulsory ‘settlements’. According to a handful that interacted with our correspondent after they were assured their identities won’t be revealed, each lady pays between N7000 and N8000 every week to the leader of the hotel where they ‘hustle’. The fee, they revealed, covers rent for the week and ‘tax’ for the police among other such bills. The pressure of meeting up with such weekly obligation is taking its toll on many of the prostitutes who prospect for clients in Empire. One of the ladies whom our correspondent chatted up at ‘White House’,said “Whether you work in a week or not, you must pay the regular dues to the head of the hotel,” . “Each of us who ‘hustle’ here pays N8000 every week to our boss who then

Should Hijabs Be Allowed In NYSC Camps?

The Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, has rejected in very strong terms the purported ban on Hijab in the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, orientation camps. The Director-General of the NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Johnson Olawumi, on Tuesday announced a ban on the use of “long hijab” by female corps members, citing security concerns. But MURIC, in a statement by its director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, said the ban is unacceptable to Muslims and accused the NYSC DG of Islamophobia. “The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) rejects the purported ban. It is reckless, baseless and preposterous. No public officer of the Federal Republic of Nigeria should speak in such manner. “The pronouncement smacks of power drunkenness. It is a hate statement. The Director General needs to purge himself of Islamophobia. “On what ground is he banning the use of hijab? Security reason is not enough because we have examples of armed robbers using police uniforms to rob. “Has anyone thought of banning police uniform? About f
