Immigrant Nearly Poisoned After Squeezing Into Tiny Car Compartment

A stowaway was nearly poisoned after squeezing into a car's hidden compartment in a bid to get out of Morocco.
The man managed to hide in a false compartment created between the back seats of a car and the boot, which police described as one of the smallest spaces they have ever seen.
Border control officers checking vehicles at the Spanish port of Algeciras in Cadiz said the man could easily have died because of the exhaust fumes given off during the journey.
According to Daily Mirror,a Police spokesman said
the size of the interior had been extensively modified, endangering the physical integrity of the young man because of the accumulated gases in such an enclosed space," He would have been unable to free himself from the space and would have relied totally on the driver to let him in or out. 76 Hungry Boko Haram Members Surrender To Nigerian Military

Dozens of emaciated-looking Boko Haram members begging for food have surrendered in northeast Nigeria, the military and a civilian self-defense fighter said Wednesday. Seventy-six people including children and women gave themselves up to soldiers last Saturday in Gwoza, about 100 kilometers (60 miles) southeast of Maiduguri, according to a senior officer. All are being detained at military headquarters in Maiduguri, the birthplace of Boko Haram and currently the command center of the war against the Islamic extremists, according to the officer. He insisted on anonymity because he is not authorized to speak to journalists. The detainees said many more fighters want to surrender, a self-defense civilian fighter who helped escort them to Maiduguri told The Associated Press.
