North Korea threatens to 'leave no Americans alive' as Kim Jong-un boasts of nuclear arsenal, on Korean War armistice anniversary

A North Korean army General has said that another war on the Korean peninsula would leave no Americans left to sign a surrender document, in a grandstanding speech that marked the 62nd anniversary of the armistice of the Korean War. North Korean citizens flocked to mass patriotic gatherings and dances in honour of the armistice day, in honour of the agreement, which was signed on 27 July 1953. The armistice is hailed every year as a North Korean victory over America, which fought alongside South Korea and UN forces against North Korean forces, which were backed by China and the USSR. Although the agreement ended the war, it was a truce, not a peace treaty. As a result, North Korea and South Korea are still technically at war.In an address, the text of which was broadcast on state television, Kim Jong-unfurther stepped up his anti-American rhetoric, and boasted about his country's nuclear arsenal. He said: "Gone forever is the era when the United States blackmailed us with nukes. Now the United States is no longer a source of threat and fear for us and we are the very source of fear for it.Based on estimates by a number of international bodies, North Korea is believed to have between six and 27 small nuclear warheads, although most estimates assume they have a maximum of 10 usable warheads. North Korean army General Pak Song Yik, widely believed to be the country's new Defence Minister, stepped up the belligerence further - saying at a meeting that if the US did not abandon its tough policies towards North Korea and provoked another war, the North would fight until "there would be no one left to sign a surrender document"."It is more than 60 years since the ceasefire on (the) land, but peace has not yet settled on it," he told the meeting, which included high-level officials, veterans and diplomats stationed in Pyongyang. "The past Korean War brought about the beginning of the downhill turn for the U.S., but the second Korean war will bring the final ruin to U.S. imperialism." The military of North Korea is the largest in the world - boasting around 9.5 million permanent soldiers, reservists and paramilitaries in total. This number equates to around 40 per cent of the country's population.

The First Black Pilot Was A Nigerian

Ahmet Ali Çelikten Ahmet Ali Çelikten born İzmirli Alioğlu Ahmed; 1883–1969), also known as Arap Ahmet Ali or İzmirli Ahmet Ali,[1] was an Ottoman aviator who may have been the first black pilot in aviation history and was one of the few black pilots in World War I, like Eugene Jacques Bullard. His grandmother came fromBornu(now in Nigeria) to the Ottoman Empire as a slave. He aimed to become a naval sailor and entered the Naval Technical School named Haddehâne Mektebi (literally "School of the Blooming Mill"in 1904. In 1908, he graduated from school as a First Lieutenant (Mülâzım-ı evvel). And then he went to aviation courses in the Naval Flight School (Deniz Tayyare Mektebi) that was formed on 25 June 1914 at Yeşilköy. He was then a member of the Ottoman Air Force. The Economist article on the fight against Boko Haram

Read this very interesting article by The Economiston the fight against Boko Haram and the alleged multiple deaths of Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau. The article below.. How many times can one man die? At least four, in the case of Abubakar Shekau, the slippery leader of Boko Haram. Nigerian security forces celebrated his demise in 2009, 2013 and 2014, only for him to pop up again, disconcertingly animate, on camera. When Chad’s president said in August that his troops had killed Mr Shekau, the jihadist was resurrected once again, this time with a voice recording. “Woe unto liars that had claimed I am dead,” said the voice. “Nobody can kill me.” This relatively mild-mannered dispatch raised questions of its own. Most of what is known about Africa’s most notorious terrorist derives from his gun-wielding, slave-touting videos. If he were still at large, would he not release a film in his usual more robust style? Most probably, he is indeed alive. Whether he is injured is impossible...
